Favela
Branding
When I joined the company, there weren’t many visual assets to work with, and the ones we did have felt pretty outdated. So, one of my first jobs was to revamp the company emblem and design a new wordmark (as you can see below).
This section gives you a peek at the core branding I’ve designed so far, along with the new brand direction I’m currently working on to take things to the next level since I started my new role.

When I joined, the logo on the left was the only real visual asset or branding Favela Cerveja had. While it had potential, I felt it was clunky, overly busy, and lacked the visual impact needed to stand out.
My task was to modernise and refine it while preserving its key components, ensuring it stayed true to the brand's identity.

I was drawn to the stencil-like typography in the original emblem, so I used it as inspiration to create a strong, bold wordmark. This approach stayed true to the essence of the original logo while re-imagining it in a way that gives the brand a fresh identity.

I have recently started a mini rebrand for Favela. It is something that was discussed I do when I stepped into my new role, and I have been building the new look alongside everything else I do. I felt the brand lacked any sort of energy and playfulness, which seemed key to me being a Brazilian beer brand. So I have designed the following 6 images - reflecting the vibrant culture of Rio de Janeiro.
Once completed and signed off by the board, it will be rolled out on social media first, then will be used across the brand. I used a mix of bold, diverse fonts to symbolize the rich variety of cultures and people that make the Rio de Janeiro so unique.
The tagline, "The Taste of Rio," ties everything together, anchoring the brand in the energy and spirit of the city. This updated design approach brings a fresh, dynamic feel to the brand, and I’ll be rolling it out across all Favela’s branding to create a cohesive and engaging visual identity.
